Style Tips for your Bedroom

Given that England is the country of four seasons in one day, as the seasons do change, so you may wish to change the look of your bedroom.

You don't have to redecorate to give a fresh look. Here are just a few ideas that will give your bedroom a simple makeover

  1. It may sound obvious, but not many people do this: choose a light percale cotton for your bed linen for the summer and a cosy sateen cotton for the winter. It’s not about the thread count, it’s about the weave. Cool percale is crisp, lightweight, and matt - you can imagine you're on a Greek Island with thin white drapes flowing in the breeze. But fast forward to winter, and you want the smooth, soft, and silky sateen to snuggle under with your cashmere bed socks on. These small changes each season will make you fall in love with your bed all over again.
  2. Freshen your throws and cushions - linen cushions again give a light, breezy feel to a bedroom and light, neutral throws add an air of space. Conversely, treat yourself to some weightier textures such as velvet or tweed for your cushions in cooler months, to give a warm, rich feel.
  3.  You may have a spare set of curtains - a quick dry clean for those that have been in storage and a room is noticeably different.
  4. Finally, flowers will bring light, smell, and life into your bedroom. Even a few wildflowers from an overgrown garden will make the difference. Or a winter scented candle in the colder months to give a warming scent before slipping into the sheets.

These are not expensive changes - and if they don't work - well, you can change it all back!
