17 years ago our founder, Stephanie, started a very personal journey. A lawyer by day and often by night - sleep was vital to recharge and face a new day of challenges.
Josephine Home (as it was then) began simply as a necessity - a need for a good night’s rest and the need for reliable and incredible feeling Bed Linen to sink into at the end of a long day. The business grew very quickly armed with a team of artisan craftsmen producing exceptional products and a community of sleep lovers who welcomed them.
But it was Stephanie’s very first client who introduced her to his Interior Designer and the trade sector. And really, the rest is history. Stephanie worked closely with them to listen and really understand how they worked, what their processes were and what their frustrations with the industry were. Learning what Interior Designers really want and need from a supplier drives our DNA to this day.
We are proud to work with so many world-class Interior Designers who come back to us time and time again. We understand the multitude of challenges that are part and parcel of delivering complex assignments for discerning VIPs. Since those early days, we have developed a dedicated service specifically for Interior Designers to help alleviate those pressures, to ensure that adding the finishing touches to every project is a seamless and joyful experience - from bedding, to towels and throws.
With so many companies on the market vying for your business and overwhelming you with thread count claims, cotton versus linen benefits, and the latest ‘must have pantone of the year for your sheets’, we like to keep it simple.
We produce exceptional products that don’t overwhelm you with design or colour options. They are unbelievably well made, elegantly paired down and they allow the interior design of the space to do the talking. We focus on how they feel on your skin, so when you retreat to bed at the end of a long day, it’s a wonderful experience. We do the hard work when it comes to bed linen, so the Interior Designers don’t have to.
The fabrics we weave for the trade are the same fabrics we weave for you. So the Heritage Collection or the Island Collection you buy to put on your bed are the very same collections that discerning Interior Designers, VIPs and Hoteliers choose.
We can also provide you with the same service we provide to the trade. So if you want 'the whole shebang', and you'd like us to supply the topper, the protectors, the pillows and the duvets, and you'd like some towels and a cashmere blanket thrown in, we can take care of the whole project for you. It's what we do. Give Jo a call on 07584 166340 or 020 7751 0100.
Highlighting: Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and Charles & Co
For now, grab a coffee and delve into the world of two of our Interior Designer clients:
The studio works with clients globally to produce contemporary, liveable design informed by an elegant and eclectic European point of view. Projects span residential, hospitality, restaurants, bars and maritime.
Bryan O’Sullivan finds exquisite details and inspiration everywhere he goes, whether on an intrepid trip or closer to home, absorbing the nuances and details that make everyday living exceptional while topping up his encyclopedic knowledge of design and interior architecture. His studio's style is original and compelling whilst remaining timeless, making even the most demanding spaces appear welcoming and unique, whether a public hotel or private residence.
Bryan and his team favour a simple, authentic glamour - refined lines paired with immaculate, considered antiques and contemporary furnishings. While inspired by the classical proportions of French and Italian architects of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, the studio's work is always reaching forward for new ideas. Sophisticated yet irreverent, curvilinear shapes and rich textiles are the hallmark of their designs. Sublimely demonstrated by undoubtedly one of the most Instagrammed spaces in London recently, The Snug, a glamorous private salon for 10 at The Berkeley. Text taken from BOS website.
"The design studio puts an emphasis on honest materials and an attention to craft.
Don’t be fooled by Vicky Charles’s pedigree as the former global head of design for Soho House or her galaxy of celebrity clients. When it comes to crafting soulful homes, Charles, along with partner Julia Corden, has little patience for strained theatrics or artificial poses. “Good design starts with good listening—to the clients, the architecture, the landscape, and the wider environment,” she avers. “We aim to create spaces that are not merely photo ready but living ready.” It’s a message received loud and clear by power couples David and Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell. When not working on residential projects, the AD100 designers keep busy making over work spaces for storied brands, like the Bon Appétit test kitchen, which the pair refreshed in 2018". Text by AD100
